Personal information collected

We apply the principle of data minimization: we collect only the information strictly necessary to conclude your short-term rental agreement and to provide self check-in at your accommodation.

Purposes and use of your information

Secure self check-in: Programming of a temporary smart lock code that is active only during your stay.
Canadian tax compliance: Issuance of official invoices including the lodging tax, GST and QST.
Stay-related communications: Sending your itinerary, the house guide and check-out instructions (no spam).
No sale to third parties: Your contact information is never sold, rented or shared with advertising brokers.

Stripe payment security & retention period

All financial transactions and security deposit pre-authorizations are processed directly by Stripe Canada (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). Havre et Escapades H&E never stores full card numbers or card security codes (CVC) on its servers.

In accordance with the tax obligations of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec, accounting records relating to stays are retained for the statutory period of six (6) years following the end of the fiscal year, while your personal contact information may be anonymized upon request once your security deposit has been released.

High-Speed Wi-Fi portal & cookies

Our website uses only the technical cookies essential to maintaining your booking session and calculating availability in real time. When you use the guest Wi-Fi quick-access portal (via the QR code or NFC tag in the apartment), your consent to receive seasonal offers is strictly optional and can be withdrawn in one click.

Your rights: Portability, Rectification and Right to be forgotten

Under Law 25 and PIPEDA, you have the right to access and rectify your personal information, the right to data portability in a commonly used technological format, and the right to have your personal information deleted or anonymized (the “right to be forgotten”).
